What is it about that Frame?
What is it about that Frame?
Why is the frame so special on a piece of Artwork? What do you look for in a frame?
The Frame is the focal point right? Wrong! When picking out a frame with your Favorite Custom Picture Framer you need to look at these 3 things: 1.) Does it go with the time period of the piece? 2.) Does it compliment the piece or take away from the piece? 3.) Does it go with my style of decorating I am trying to portray in my home or office?
#1) Does it go with the time period of the piece? As you look at the Frame Sample of the "Pink Lady" The frame is portraying the time period of the piece and also shows a repetition from the frame to the dress and draws your eye into the piece. #2) Does it compliment the piece? The worst thing to do is put a frame on a piece that truly does not go with what you are trying to create. For example putting an Oak frame on the "Pink Lady" would totally destroy the look and would not compliment the piece at all. Don't get me wrong an Oak frame can be a good choice for the right setting and right piece but if we look at the "Pink Lady" piece Oak would definitely NOT draw your eye into this Beautiful Vintage Calendar piece! #3) Does it go with my style of decorating I am trying to portray in my home or office? The client with the "Pink Lady" Vintage piece wanted to portray a Vintage/Contemporary Look to go in her "She Room" with a Crystal Looking Chandelier and Vintage/Contemporary Furniture. This was one of four pieces. As you look at this piece you see the Beautiful White Vintage/Contemporary Frame that compliments the dress in the piece and then your eye follows into the Beautiful Pink Mat which again draws your eye into the piece. And to finish off the connection is the Beautiful Vintage Silver Beaded Fillet which gives an Elegant Look to this Beautiful Vintage Calendar Fashion Illustration Piece! Ooh la la!
