Hello and what a Beautiful Day it is this Friday morning!
Today I want to discuss Framing and Design. Last night I was at a Social Event called "Social Shenanigans". I was discussing with a business friend of mine Tiffany about the need for Design in your picture frame.
Kelly: In every picture you need to start with a design.
Tiffany: Why do you need a design?
Kelly: When designing your picture frame subject no matter what it is, whether it is a Jersey, Signed Limited Edition Print or several Heirloom family keepsakes you need to have a design in mind. As a Picture Framer the first thing I look for are all the Colors that are in the subject(s) matter. This could be Burgandy, Green, Gold and Black. Then I ask you the Client what is your preference on style? It could be contemporary, Antique or Eclectic. What ever your style I will work with your picture framing to enhance the look you want. But in the details I am looking to see how your eye will follow the main item in your picture frame and work it's way out. Or Vise Versa to where your looking at the frame and your eye easily goes into the frame, mat colors to the subject matter. There needs to be a flow. Picture framing is always about the Details and the simple way you the client mentally steps into that painting and can feel the memory and can see yourself touching what is in that framed picture and go Awwwww......that is so peaceful.
Tiffany: Oh, I understand now. You don't just put any frame or any mat on your painting and say there you go! It's all about the experience of each and every picture you frame.
Kelly: Yes it is! And this is why I frame. It's the experience, the feeling and is all about the details and design that goes into framing a picture for my clients that can mean something special to them for many years to come.
Have an AWESOME DAY!
Chow!
